Not Bad

No bad for your first game. Like other people have said though, lag is an issue

Try reducing the graphical quality, or cleaning up the actionscript slightly, that may speed the game up. Also, if you've used a few external AS files, you could try reducing the number of them. Or if all the code is in the actual fla file, try using some external AS files if you know how to use them. That way the game will have less code to process and will run abit quicker.

It's worth a try anyway, I'll admit my actionscripting knowledge isnt briliant, but I'm familiar with it.

I really don't experience any lag at all! but ok, I'll do that. Thanks

Not bad...

Not bad for your first game. I know how hard it is to make a flash game and you've done pretty well.

Some improvements however would be to make the character fall quicker, also make it so that the character can shoot while jumping.

In regards to enemies, the hit areas on the Bookface enemies needs some work, some of the bullets I fired at it just seemed to go through.

On the whole, a good solid game, keep it up.

Ya know

Ya know something, that was actually quite good. A fair bit of coding has gone behind that. Add a way of saving your progress, or possibly exporting the image as an image file to the desktop (I think thats possible). Also, have different styles of "ink".

On the whole, quite good. Use it as a basis for something bigger and you could be onto something quite interesting.

YOU'RE BEING SO NICE. The truth is, I thought of this while doodling at college today and threw it together in about 20 minutes (would have been quicker but I haven't used the new flash coding language {AS3} in quite a while). I submitted as a joke, sort of.. but thanks for the great response and I really am gonna make a 'sequel' with all this crap people are suggesting lolol :D

Not bad at all...

Ive been using flash for a while, mainly creating website interfaces, but some of the topics raised here will prove very useful. The AS sections seemed very well done.

Although may i make a suggestion? I understand why your orientating the tutorial towards games and animation, but would it be possible to incorporate some non-entertainment sections? Such as forms etc? (Boring I know, but you never know, someone may find them useful).

And I notice your favouring Swift3D in this project, how about incorporating some points around Maya 7 as well? I know its probably more specialised than Swift3D, but some people may prefer it. (If you need help with that, feel free to PM me)

Anyway, A good all-round tutorial that will teach an old dog new tricks, and makes light work of the more complicated parts.

Not too bad

Not too bad actualy. Although some aspects of it could have been better. For example, better target detection. Also more weapons.

Work on the technology abit, and for now, stick to the movies insted of the games.

Not bad, but buggy

I know you said that this game was short, yet difficult, but it isnt ment to be impossible.

For example, some of the jumps are very difficult to clear, and those rodentesque things are, although easy to kill individualy, can cause problems when there is a group of them. The main problem I found what in about room 4, where you have about 10 of those things coming at you at once, the problem been that they move faster than it takes for your hammer to "reload".

I think a slight addjustment to the code is in order. But appart from that, it looks good and is challenging. Keep them coming.

Nicely done!

I liked this game, and for such a small filesize, it was rather well done and had good sound quality. A suggestion for future versions would be a start button at the start of each level, so you can take your time with the game.

Also, if the music path actualy played a tune rather than some random notes, that would sound fantastic. You could also use a varity of musical instraments, such as the trumpet or organ.

Overall, very well done and keep em coming!
